Apple rebate: Student discount buy a mac get a free ipod question?

I bought a mac and Ipod and printed the rebate form. It says you need the upcs off the mac and ipod, but if something happens to my mac or ipod and I need to return them, won’t I need the upcs?

Generally, I would say no, but apple will want some proof of purchase, so I say just right all the info down and put it in a safe place.

Apple has a 14 day return policy. After that, you can take it in if something goes wrong, but it won’t matter if the box is in perfect condition.
