Anyone else feel like a loser after college and not finding a good job?
I graduated a year ago and am no longer interested in getting a job related to my degree. The only jobs I have experience in are office/administrative positions. I feel like such a loser that I can’t find a “real” job after college. Is this normal? Should your work or job make you who you are? I get jealous of people who have jobs related to their degree because they’re fulfilling their dreams and I have not. Do you look down on others who have college degrees but are working in administrative positions or something of that nature?
Well having a bachelors degree is a good thing because most employers want someone with a degree no matter what it is. So no, I did not just use my parent’s money and go into debt for nothing.
I was thinking of going back to school but I just don’t know if it would be worth it. I’ll be in even more debt afterwards and there’s no guarantee I’ll find a decent job right away without some years of experience in that position. By the time I get my master’s I could be at a higher paying job versus a job I could possibly get after my master’s that doesn’t pay as well…

hey, don’t feel bad, If i graduated and didn’t find the job that’s related to my degree, I’ll feel like a bum too. I bet you’re not the only one, plus the economy is at the low end of the spectrum right now, just give it some time, and it will soon be over

I never look down on people….unless they deserve it, but it would never be for a reason like that. It does bother me when people go to school for something and then don’t persue that line of work because they are lucky enough to have gotten the higher education and then don’t use it…usually paid for by very hard working parents and it bothers me that many people jsut don’t care. I don’t think that is what you are saying though….so don’t mean to offend…I just see lots of people who waist their time and parents money to get an education they never use.

Ever think about going back to school? Since the economy is in the tank good jobs are hard to come by and if you are feeling unfulfilled in your current position you don’t have much to lose.

Honestly, the fact that you think that just because you work in administration/office position that it makes you a loser kinda does – that’s shallow, if you want a job in your field apply for them, but don’t degrade others because you are unhappy with yourself working in administration doesn’t make you a loser but being shallow sure does

You are not you job, you’re not how much money you have in the bank, you’re not your f*ckin Kakhis.
