My school gave me a student transit card and I have no idea what’s it for..? I take the TTC bus from my house to the School and I put the ticket…All I want to know is that do I show them the discount card instead of putting a ticket in?

If the card contains your photograph, you’ve been issued a Student Discount Card. This card is an just an ID card. It simply proves that you are a student, and allows you to travel on the TTC with a student fare ($1.85), student tickets, or the monthly student Metropass.
When you get onto a bus/streetcar or enter a subway station, you would show your Student Discount Card AND put in either a student ticket or $1.85.
Hope this helps.

The other answers are correct. In order to pay the student ticket you put in, you have to be a student and that student card shows it. BUT you dont have to always show it. They dont ussualy ask for it unles they wanna see it.
So i just put in the ticket and just show em whenever they ask to see it. but always carry it on you jus in case.

You have to show the discount card to prove you are a student so you can pay the student fare – otherwise the bus driver will make you pay a higher fare
